Just Like Grandma Used to Make: An Easy, Fast, and Delicious Taco Salad Recipe 
Some of us may remember our relatives or grandparents cooking us very good food when we were younger.  Whether it's that familiar Thanksgiving or holiday season smell of food, we can always look fondly on that one particular recipe we always wanted.  My grandma had a taco salad recipe that was always delicious and stood out from the others I had growing up.  Before she passed away, she gave the recipe to my family and we kept the family tradition of this meal going for her.  If you have the correct amount of certain ingredients, you can prepare this taco salad in about 10 minutes!

The 10 Ingredients You Need for this Quick and Easy Meal
This taco salad recipe uses just 10 ingredients you can find at any grocery store.


  • Two lbs of ground beef chuck
  • Bag of taco blend shredded cheese
  • Full 8 oz. container of Daisy sour cream
  • Three-quarters of a bottle of Kraft 1000 Island dressing
  • Full head of iceberg lettuce
  • Bag of family size Nacho Cheese Doritos
  • Two Jalapeno peppers
  • One red onion
  • One can of black beans
  • One tomato 

The 12 Steps to Prepare the Meal 
Once you have the ingredients ready, you are now ready to start cooking and preparing the meal!

  1. Cook two lbs of the ground beef chuck until it's all brown with no signs of pink or red color.
  2. Empty bag of taco blend shredded cheese into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  3. Empty full 8 oz. container of Daisy sour cream into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  4. Empty about three-quarters of a bottle of Kraft 1000 Island dressing into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  5. Chop up a full head of iceberg lettuce and empty it into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  6. Crumple up a bag family size Nacho Cheese Doritos empty it into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  7. Dice chop two Jalapeno peppers and empty it into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  8. Finely dice one red onion and empty it into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  9. Thoroughly drain a can of black beans and empty it into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  10. Finely dice a tomato and empty it into a large pot or mixing bowl.
  11. Empty cooked taco beef into the large pot or mixing bowl that the other ingredients have been placed.
  12. Thoroughly stir the contents you have mixed together.  You are now ready to serve your meal!

    I really like your use of white space in this post. It helps with the eye gaze pattern and make the content sections easy to distinguish. Your ingredient list and numbered directions list are easy to read and understand. This recipe look delicious! Nice job!

    Thank you for sharing. I have never had taco salad before and will definitely have to give it a try. Grandmas always make the best food so I'm sure this is great. Another great thing is this sounds very quick to make when always on the go.
