Landlocked by the towering Himalayas, Nepal is the perfect local to take in some of the most breath-taking mountain scenery and get an up-close and personal experience with the tallest mountain in the world. Everest. For the last century, it has captivated explorers from around the world with its fierceness and impossibility, and I must say I am stricken with the same curiosity. Now, I do not have the dream to summit the 'roof of the world' myself, but viewing it from base camp would be an absolute dream. I always say besides humans, mountains are the pinnacle of God's creation, life-giving in every way.

Nepal is riddled with old-world history and culture. If you find yourself in the capital city of Kathmandu you may want to check out some of the famous Hindu and Buddhist temples, some dating back to 400 AD. A good reminder for all travelers is to be respectful of these beautiful sites, and the religious beliefs held here even if you do not share the same faith.
