6.7 Jaylin - Let's Go to Japan

Japan has always been on my list of places to visit outside of the states. My interest in Japanese cartoons (anime) to video games have peaked my interest in seeing something totally different than the states. This list is five places I would definitely visit when visiting Tokyo, Japan.

Japan, Travel, Nature, Asia, Plant, Architecture, Tokyo
Tokyo city life

1. Senso-ji

Sensō-Ji Temple, Japan, Kyoto, Landmark, Tourism, Asia
Senso-ji Temple

Senso-ji is a sacred temple in Asakusa. I always associate temples to be red in Japan, but that might just be the amount of anime I've watched that carry that color. I would love to take pictures at the temple and learn history about the temple!

2. Akihabara

Akihabara, Tokyo, Night, Japan, Japanese, Shopping

I've been told Akihabara is the place to go if you want anything in the vein of anime merchandise. From comics to detailed figurines, this place is a dream to visit. Stopping to see the amount of merchandise they have on anime versus what I've seen of in the states would be crazy. Got to grab something to remember my trip, right?

3. Meiji Shrine

Going to Japan means I should take in as much historical sites as much as I can.

4. Oedo-Onsen Monogatari

It's a hot spring themed around the Edo time period. Though there's a "tattoo-free" prerequisite, I think just visiting a hot spring would be nice. I would totally want to make a stop at this one.

5. Tea Ceremony at Hamarikyu Onshi Teien

The tea ceremony has been an interest of mine. I don't drink tea often, but I've seen videos of the tea ceremony and it would be cool to try. If you don't know what a tea ceremony is, have a look at TEALEAVES' video here.

  1. Hello Jaylin,

Fantastic work on your post! I want to go to Japan after my brother went earlier this year and had an absolute blast, he also loves anime and much of the culture there. I enjoyed your number list style and the bright colored images that sparked interest. The color on your headlines also made your post 'Pop' even more. Your third image needs a caption but overall I loved your post great work!
